Is it possible there was a more nerve wracking experience than selling the house? Well, it’s possible. Last night, we were at our car dealership running numbers. Part of the plan of the move to Oregon is trading in both of our cars to get down to 1 car. Specifically, an SUV.
Both of our cars are fairly new, so we were a bit nervous about the depreciation. Thankfully, we both purchased the best cars ever: Honda. They’ve held their value, and we’re sitting in a great position for trading them in. WOOHOO!!! Huge weight off of our shoulders. I will finally be relieved of the severe buyers remorse I had from my current car (a 66 month lease … didn’t even know they existed. You could say I got screwed). While we’re pretty sad to see J’s amazing Civic leave the family, we’re excited to welcome a new baby into our loving arms!
We’re going back Monday to do our final test drives and make our decision. As of now, it’s looking like we’re going to be the proud owners of a 2008 Jeep Liberty Sport.
Oh man, this baby is beautiful! I’m letting go of “I hate silver paint” thing … Everything else totally makes up for it! We’ve both always loved jeeps. Since they started making a boxier Liberty, we knew it was in our top 5. After seeing the inside last night, and seeing the ample room for the pets, we knew it was perfect. The seats fold down, there are barely any miles, there’s an audio jack for the iPod, 4 wheel drive for those mountains out in the PNW, and it’s just a badass car.
We got approved last night… Low interest. Fast payoff. Nice payment (exactly what we were hoping for). Now, we just have to do that test drive, sign the papers, say goodbye to the Hondas, and we’ll be set. We were so scared going into dealership, and we left with huge smiles on our faces! We absolutely love CarMax by the way. It’s the 2nd time we’ve purchased from them, and have nothing but amazing things to say about their stock, staff & service. *We did not get paid to say that ;)
Yay for new (used) cars!
